We have a new study paper out, this one on the impacts of self-awareness on learning. The study looks at the effects of different self-awareness levels on learning. In the abstract and the conclusion, we look at how self-awareness levels impact on how individuals learn as well as the ways that the self-awareness levels can be improved.

The study found that the “higher” self-awareness level was associated with more self-motivation and more effort put into learning. Conversely, there was no evidence that self-awareness can be improved along with a higher level of motivation and effort, which is what we expected.

The study was actually a meta-study investigating the relationship between self-awareness and motivation, which we already knew. But we still expected to see that self-awareness would be associated with more self-motivation and more effort put into learning. Instead, we found that self-awareness was not associated with more self-motivation or more effort put into learning.
